Introducing Basel theme with MultiMerch
It's been a while since we've last updated our list of partner themes.
Good OpenCart themes are a rare breed, so it makes me really happy to find a decent new theme to recommend to MultiMerch multi vendor marketplace owners.
Today, I'd like to introduce Basel – the Ajax-driven theme for OpenCart and MultiMerch.
Basel is an OpenCart theme created by Karl, who also has the ShopMe theme in his portfolio.
While ShopMe for OpenCart was discontinued with the release of OpenCart 3, Basel was specifically designed as the next generation theme and a better alternative to ShopMe.
What makes is particularly happy about Basel is that it's a rare gem when a clear, modern design is combined with a great set of features, a clean code base and top notch support by the developer.
The theme offers more than a dozen different layouts – boxed and full width – to choose from and a simple layout installer. This lets you get started with Basel in seconds, with a single click of a button.
Basel's design is all you need to run a modern online store or a marketplace with OpenCart. From product page layouts to the design of category pages, from sidebar widgets to menus – it's all pixel perfect.
In addition to the core features, Basel also packs a neat One Page Checkout extension that feels swift and straight forward, a blog extension for your content marketing and a number of other plugins.
Overall, Basel is designed to streamline all processes within your online store and minimize the number of issues you may run into.
The cherry on top – Karl's always ready to help you out if you're stuck.
Basel with MultiMerch for multi vendor marketplaces
Like I mentioned, we're now offering compatibility files for Basel with MultiMerch.
It didn't take me long to become a fan of Basel and I'm really proud that we can recommend it to our MultiMerch marketplace owners.
The best thing – thanks to Basel's clean code base and its use of regular OpenCart-style Bootstrap templates, creating the MultiMerch compatibility files didn't require much work at all.
This also means greater stability as we can use our templates almost as is, without heavy modding that's needed for themes like Journal and causes layout issues down the road.
From seller lists to seller profiles and stores, from dashboards to product publishing and order management – MultiMerch and Basel are a perfect match.
MultiMerch demo with Basel
To celebrate the occasion, we've set up a dedicated MultiMerch demo running Basel so you can all give it a try. We've chosen Basel Minimal as our style of choice, but you can try the rest of styles by visiting the official demo of Basel.
Now go give Basel a try and stay tuned – in the very near future we'll also update our Basel demo with the new MultiMerch dashboards!
